I’m a sucker for a good beauty product and during my quest for the perfect affordable products I have found some that I love that have either become a re-occurring player in the saga of my beauty routine and some which are new to the cast.
I find that I get jaded into believing there are no good products under $20 bucks or even under $10 bucks and need to invest in $60 face creams or 40 dollar lipsticks, but as we all know that is simply just not the case. High end products are great but there is a treasure trove of products to be found at great prices.
Glossier Balm Dotcom Glossier Stretch Concealer Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush Burt’s Bees Lipstick NIVEA Essentially Enriched Body Lotion BATISTE Dry Shampoo VICHY Normaderm Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer VERB Hydrating Shampoo Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Glossier Balm Dotcom $12: This is one of my favorite items I have in my beauty arsenal. I love it. The original is a great easy one to use on your lips or different dry patches especially when the colder weather starts to approach and dries out the skin. My favorite are the coconut and the new Birthday cake but they are all amazing and for $12 it’s a great value for what you get.
Glossier Stretch Concealer $18: This is a super lightweight concealer that I really love. It seems like it is going to go on sheer but it has a good amount of coverage that I was super surprised to find. I like to wear this alone or over top my other foundations I use. Currently with the weather still being really hot I haven’t been wearing a ton of makeup so this concealer is really great for touch ups. It comes in a smaller jar but you don’t need a lot and I find that a little goes a long way so for $18 I thought it was well worth the price.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush $7.99: This blush is so fantastic. The colors are amazing and the texture is so cool. I find it to be pretty pigmented and the colors are really vibrant. My favorite is their plum wine which I love any time but especially during fall and winter. For the summer I have been using their peach Satin which is such a pretty color for summer and I use their Coffee Cake which is this pretty toffee color. They have an assortment of colors but I truly recommend this blush for an affordable and really great quality product.
Burt’s Bees Lipstick $7.19: I bought one of their lipsticks in the color Juniper Water which is this gorgeous purple color. Then I loved the quality so much I went back and bought 4 more. It goes on sort of this cream matte, I wouldn’t say it was pure matte but it is not glossy by any means very creamy. I also love the size you get a lot of product for a little bit of money, and the best part the lipstick is 100% all natural.
NIVEA Enriched Body Lotion $5.49: I have been using this lotion for a couple of years now. It’s thick and I love the feeling this lotion, it’s not greasy at all and dries quickly on the skin and leaves it really soft. They have levels of thickness and the one I get is usually the highest because my skin is always pretty dry. It smells amazing and the bottle lasts forever.
BATISTE Dry Shampoo $7.99: I’ve seen this product priced differently at some places but they could charge $20 or $30 bucks and i’d probably still purchase this. I’ve used many different types of dry shampoo but this one is by far my favorite. I feel like with some dry shampoos they work but my hair still looks like it’s dirty but with this it really does look like I just washed it. I will admit I go through this product far to quickly so I usually get 2 bottles at a time and I’ve seen Ulta do some specials on it. I will admit I got the dry shampoo that matches the hair color so there is no white residue but I will never do that again. Yes, it matched my hair but it got all over my hands, shirt and stained pillow cases so I wouldn’t do the color match again.
VICHY Normaderm Cleanser $18: I first got this in Florence, Italy by recommendation from my sister-in-law and its been an on and off staple ever since. The cleanser is super light weight but my face feels so clean and I definitely noticed a change in my skin after about week of using it. I personally have a hard time finding it in my neck of the woods but you can get it online, Ulta or if you’re in Canada or Europe you can find it at drug stores or pharmacies easily.
Phycisians Formula Butter Bronzer $12.95: Such a fun bronzer, it smells like coconut and gives this super natural glow. It is my go-to bronzer for everyday and I love it. It doesn’t ever look to heavy and it really does look natural like I’ve been kissed by the sun. It’s a great buy.
VERB Hydrating Shampoo $16: I usually purchase my shampoo from my salon and my favorite is Kerastase but it’s a pretty penny and I feel like I run out very quickly. I don’t often buy drug store shampoo but there are a few that I like, but this one I picked up in the travel size before a trip at Sephora and I love it. I personally feel like it is reasonably priced for 12 oz. and I think it’s around $7 for travel size. The shampoo smells great and it’s really lightly scented which I like, it just smells very clean, it’s incredibly moisturizing and leaves my hair with a lot of body which is surprising to me for a hydrating shampoo. The shampoo is also paraben, sulfate & Phthalates free, cruelty free and does not contain gluten. Which honestly, I didn’t know shampoo contained gluten so there you go.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir $18: Ok, so this one might be cheat and an OMG but I just love it. I have yet to actually purchase a full size of the beauty elixir because I find that the travel size lasts a long time. Yes, 1 oz. for $18 seems super steep but this is such a great product that it’s nice to be able to just pop this into your bag and have it through out the day. This product is great for dry skin, pores or uneven or dull skin and it is true it truly radiates my skin like no other. It has an interesting story that it is inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth. You can also use as a setting spray before powder. I highly suggest this product A ++.
