Let’s talk about shoes, baby! Did you see what I just did there? Anyways. I recently told that my original Nike sneakers were less than stylish. And while I only wore them to workout in or walk the dog I knew I was the only one that liked them because I would get commented on them all the time, and not the kind of comments that were complimentary. So I decided I needed a pair of sneakers that I could not only wear to the gym but I could also wear on a regular basis.
I wasn’t really sure what to get because I wasn’t much of a sneaker head. The last pair didn’t win any fans and the last ones I owned were 15 years ago and they were New Balance. So I took some suggestions from my friend who knows his sneakers and initially settled on the Nike “Pegasus”. I went to Nordstrom but they didn’t have my size or the color I wanted so I decided to try on the Nike “Free 5.0” mesh sneakers. I put them on and they felt like they molded directly onto my feet like perfection. It was the quickest shoe purchase I have ever made. Now, when it comes to sneakers I tend to notice I have some pain near my arch and this happens with any sneaker I wear. Except this one. I have worn them all day walking around, on a hike (Yes I know that is very Seattle of me) and worn them to work out in. I have had no problems with my arch and I kind of never want to take them off.
I still really want the Pegasus style but I am so happy with this shoe that if you haven’t tried them I definitely recommend them. They are not the cheapest but I think for a shoe that you are going to get a lot of use out of then they are totally worth it. I got mine in the black but they have several other colors too if you’re not into just a solid color. I am not that adventurous and I just love a solid black sneaker with some white accents.
