Wanderlust Wednesday-Washington D.C.

Today I was supposed to be on my way to Washington D.C. but the person I was going with unfortunately had some emergency medical issues that we had to post pone the trip till October. Which honestly I wasn’t completely prepared to travel and also I am hoping the weather is a little bit cooler to sight see.

Anyways I put together three looks that I thought would be great looks for D.C. during September because I know the weather was supposed to be pretty warm still.

So, when October comes around I definitely promise to do a “what I am packing” as well as a couple looks as well.

FLIGHT LOOK SEATTLE TO D.C.

SEA to D.C.

I love this look. I realize how simple it is but It’s been my go to look this month except I usually wear black skinny jeans. However, I just bought these faux leather panel leggings from Old Navy and love, love, LOVE them. I especially love them with my snake-skin Vans I got from a good friend. But these leggings also look amazing with a pair of heels too. With leggings I like to wear longer tops so I usually wear a tank under sweaters sometimes to give a little bit of length in case the front of the sweater is a little shorter than the back. I also like to have a larger tote or even a chic backpack so I can keep my cameras some where rather than around my neck all day. My Ray-Ban Sunglasses are my life. I wear them all the time and they go with everything. I also love my engravable Stella & Dot necklace which I wear almost everyday as well and add a couple of simple rings; these are from Stella & Dot & Baublebar. This MAC nail color has been my go to nail color since July. I love it. I chose this look to fly because comfort on a long flight is truly important but I want to look some what put together. Easy shoes to take off for security are a plus and something flat in case i’m running behind which happens.
SIGHT SEEING IN D.C.
D.C. Sight Seeing

When it comes to traveling I am all about comfort but also have a little bit of flair. Because the weather (from what I am reading) has been quite warm and I figured since I will be walking a lot I want to be comfortable and I LOVE this dress as well as these Birkenstocks. They are incredibly comfortable and I love how they look with this dress. Again, I rock my engraveable necklace by Stella & Dot a couple of simple bracelets both by Stella & Dot as well as this tote I just got and LOVE from Stella & Dot. Don’t forget my signature shades and a camera (I usually end of up with three cameras which I can’t help) and I am set for some serious sight-seeing.

D.C. DINING

DInner out in D.C.

I had planned for a nice dinner to tie my whole trip together and really wanted to feel chic in D.C. for a night out. I Adore this blue dress. It’s a dress that I personally feel can transition nicely from work to-night, from Summer to winter. And I since it is September and summer isn’t quite over yet this dress works well for a warm summer evening in the city. I love a simple pair of black pumps but I also think theĀ dress would look great with a pair of strappy heels. I LOVE my Gigi of New York clutch exactly like this one with my initials on it. Again, this clutch transitions great from day to-night. I am also a new fan of Baublebar and ADORE this ear cuff and simple bracelet. I didn’t add a necklace only because I though the simple bracelet and ear cuff are enough of a statement.

Well, I have to say I am truly excited for my visit to D.C. in October. I have started working out again and dieting and of course shopping in preparation for D.C.

Have you been to D.C. or do you live there? Any suggestions of restaurants or landmarks I should see?
