Wanderlust Wednesday-Holiday Shopping in the City

Wanderlust can be in your own hometown right? Christmas is right around the corner, and if your like me you leave your Christmas shopping to the last minute. But honestly, my favorite thing about the holiday season is the hustle and bustle of the city during this time of year. Shopping with friends or family, chilly weather, grabbing a cocktail after a long day of shopping. It’s the best time.

Today I went Christmas shopping with dad downtown Seattle and it made me super excited for this holiday.

When shopping downtown my favorite is the star at Macy’s and the Giant tree that is lit after Thanksgiving. Before it was Macy’s they used to include elf climbing the walls of the department store which was so perfect.

{Taken by me a few years ago. It’s a bit blurry because I was walking to fast to keep up with family but I loved the lined trees of light.}

{I have always wanted to get a fresh cut tree at the Pike Place Market. Taken by myself last year. Again, not the best shot.}

{Blurry, Sorry 🙂 the tree lighting at Pike Place Market. This was so much fun, more fun than the Westlake Center Tree lighting. Christmas at the Market is always so adorable.}

{Taken last Sunday (my Birthday) walking back to my car after the most Amazing dinner at Etta’s at the Market}

{Again, Not the most amazing photo but I loved all the lights, the sign and the ferris wheel in the back. Taken last Sunday as well. }

{My adorable white Christmas tree from last year. }

So, what do you wear on a shopping day in the city? For me? I like to be a tad festive, a tad chic, a tad comfy. So what did I come up with?

Holiday Shopping

So, where do I start!! Lets start with the nails. I saw this combo on Julep and I love it for a fun, festive holiday nail look. It is more of an Autumn combo BUT I love the glitter over this gorgeous dark color.

When it comes to accessories I would just add a simple gold bracelet or a couple. I love denim with a coated look, it has the feel of denim but the look of leather, it’s a great holiday pair of pants. I love a pop of color and I LOVE this red Rebecca Minkoff top, it’s flowy, romantic and perfect for the holidays. I would add this kimono sweater from Zara. What I love about it is that it’s cozy but it’s lighter weight for shopping. If your downtown and outside add a great jacket over it for warmth. I LOVE hats, and I LOVE this Rag & Bone hat, it’s my new favorite style this year. Shoes is really up to you, I love the look of these wedge booties but if you plan on walking around a lot add a pair of flat booties or ballet flats. I can actually walk pretty well in a wedged bootie or heel but like all shoes, if your walking a lot a flat works the best. And finally, the purse. When shopping I like to have a bag that’s hands free, so this GORGEOUS cross-body bag from Angela & Roi is the best. Just carry it on your shoulder or cross it over your body for easy movement.

Whats your go to holiday shopping look?
