Wanderlust Wednesdays-Palm Springs

I thought it would be fun to do a weekly post called “Wanderlust Wednesdays”. I find myself on a regular basis wanting to travel more and deciding on where I want to go. So my first destination is Palm Springs.

I have always wanted to spend sometime in Palm Springs, the desert, the palm trees, the colorful hotels and the retroness of the place really draws me. It also seems like I could really relax there. Spend some time by the pool and just relax.

I decided to pick a pool side look that I like and wanted to add a few retro pieces into it.

Wednesday Wanderlust
I know Coachella is going on this coming weekend for the 2nd weekend and the obvious look would be something for the festival but I wanted to create a look for a weekend that would be a bit more winded down. I also chose to stick with just a poolside look rather than a going out look only because if I were going to be going to Palm Springs my entire plan would be to lay by the pool, have a few cocktails and just read and take it easy.
I chose this adorable floral bikini, I love the vintage feel in the pattern and the knot. I chose a more casual cover up for walks to the bar or to and from the room, as no matter what size I am I am never comfortable just walking around in a two piece, I like this one because it looks a bit like a regular button down just very casual. You could also just use a light weight over sized button down as well. I adore these cat eye sunglasses, the right amount of vintage feel for this poolside look. I added this green head scarf knotted at the top. I thought it was again a fun flirty vintage feel rather than a hat. Pull the hair up high on your head in a bun and add this scarf, totally cute. When it comes to shoes a pair of platform wedges would be adorable but I don’t love the idea of heels by the pool, that’s just me, so I found these super cute sandels with tassels, just a fun alternative to flip-flops. A fun casual straw beach bag and of course some sunscreen, grab your headphones, magazine, book and a yummy poolside cocktail and just relax.
